Virat Kohli praised Pakistani skipper Babar Azam

Virat Kohli praised Pakistani skipper Babar Azam. Babar and Kohli are two of the world’s top batsmen. For the past ten years, Kohli has been shining on the international cricket scene. Kohli’s bat hasn’t been able to perform up to expectations or established norms in the last two to three years.

On the other hand, Babar Azam is continually reaching new heights at the same time. Both are frequently discussed and continuously compared in a setting like this. Both teams are currently in the UAE for the Asia Cup 2022.

Virat Kohli has spoken out for the first time regarding Babar Azam. Kohli referred to Babar as the best batsman in the world right now.

Virat Kohli praised Babar Azam that He is the No.1 batsman

“Babar Azam is probably the top batsman right now across formats. I’ve enjoyed watching him bat. The first talk with Babar Azam was after the 2019 WC, we sat down & talked a lot, and he had lots of respect, that hasn’t changed even after doing so well in world cricket – he is so down to earth character, he will go long way as a player,” Kohli told Star Sports.

When Virat Kohli was having a bad run during the England tour in July, Babar Azam came out in his support. He posted a photo of them with the comment,

“This too shall pass. Stay strong.”

“Thank you. Keep shining and rising. Wish you all the best.”Kohli had responded

Although the teams are fierce rivals, the players on both sides have a strong affinity.

Respect from Babar

“I saw a lot of regard and respect from him and that hasn’t changed regardless of the fact that he is probably the top batsman in the world right now across formats, performing so consistently.

“And rightly so, he has amazing talent and I have always enjoyed watching him play. So that hasn’t changed. He is performing now and he is coming into his own, but I don’t see his attitude or his approach change towards me. It is a very good sign of someone who is very grounded in the foundations of his upbringing,” Kohli added.

Babar Inspire a lot of people

“His cricketing foundations as well are very solid. So these kinds of players, these kinds of characters go a long way and inspire a lot of people. And I see that happening with him as well.

“I congratulated him yesterday on how he’s been playing and told him how amazing to watch it is and I wish him all the best. And he deserves all of this. And eventually, you need to have players like him to keep world cricket exciting,” Kohli added.

Virat Kohli Form

Veteran Indian batsman Virat Kohli has been experiencing a slump with the bat for a while. His most recent international 100 came in 2019, and his position on the national team is now also in doubt.

Since the start of the 2022 Indian Premier League earlier this year, Kohli had trouble with the bat. In 22 innings (both IPL and international) since the league’s beginning, he has only recorded one 50+ score.

Kohli had not scored more than 20 runs in any of his six innings across all formats during the England tour. He was granted a vacation from cricket after a poor performance on the trip, missing the series against the West Indies and Zimbabwe.

Everyone believes that Kohli will get his form back in the ongoing Asia Cup.
