Marcus Stoinis signs with Sharjah Warriors, joins Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Mohammad Nabi

Marcus Stoinis has become the latest major T20 player to join the UAE’s ILT20, signing with Sharjah Warriors for the month-long tournament starting January 13. He is the second Australian cricketer in the inaugural edition of the tournament after Chris Lane, who will link up with the Gulf giants after playing 11 games for the Adelaide Strikers in the ongoing BBL.
Whether Stoinis will have the same arrangement as Lynn – split between the BBL and the ILT20 – is unclear, but ESPNcricinfo understands that Stoinis’ involvement in the ILT20, with the Melbourne Stars currently bottom of the eight-team BBL table, is unlikely. is likely when the league phase of the BBL ends on January 25.

“It’s a great opportunity for me personally to get some significant playing time in a tournament like this in the UAE, ahead of what is going to be a busy year of cricket,” Stoins said in a statement. ” “These are very exciting times for international franchise cricket and I am delighted to be part of a team like Sharjah Warriors in the historic inaugural edition of the league.”
