It was all the start for the Bulls as Seamers Bartlett and James Bazley put the hosts under pressure throughout the first session. Bartlett was close to unplayable, with figures of 3 for 20 in 12.5 overs as the rain-soaked day ended, while Bazley collected two scalps.
Opener Jack Weatherold was the only South Australian batsman to reach double figures before lunch, with Daniel Drew and Nathan McSweeney both dismissed.
Queensland are second on the Shield ladder with two wins, one loss and one draw, while SA are bottom after two losses and two draws.
The Bulls made a number of changes, with Marence Lebuschagne, Matt Renshaw, Mark Stecketti, Michael Nesser and captain Usman Khawaja all unavailable due to Australia and Prime Minister’s XI commitments.
