Stumps Bangladesh A 112 trails India 404 for 5 (Jaiswal 145, Abhimanyu 142, Taijul 3-148, Khalid 2-71) by 292 runs
Jaiswal and Abhimanyu defended rock solidly with enterprising strokeplay during their partnership, which lasted for about 77 overs. He hit 31 fours and two sixes between them, scoring 3.7 over three sessions.
Perhaps a break in the 75th over – a near fire – broke their rhythm, as Jaiswal was lbw by Taijul shortly after. He scored 145 off 226 balls, the slightly more aggressive batsman of the two, hitting 20 fours and a six.
Abhimanyu, the Indian captain followed Jaiswal shortly after, caught for 142 off Khalid, batting 255 balls and hitting 11 fours and a six.
As it often happens after a huge opening stand, the rest of the batsmen struggled to get going. Yash Dhol and Sarfraz Khan were out in the 20s, while Tilak Verma, who was retired on 15, ended the day on 26 and Upinder Yadav remained unbeaten on 27.
For Bangladesh, Tejol took 3 for 148 in 43 overs while Khalid took 2 for 71 in his 20 overs. However, there was no reward for Naeem who bowled 32 overs.
