Jaiswal has been equally successful, becoming the joint-fastest Indian to score 1000 first-class runs in September, achieving the mark in just 13 innings, equal with Amul Mazamdar and Russi Modi. Earlier this year, he scored two centuries in the Ranji semi-final and backed it up with another century in the final against Madhya Pradesh. Overall, Jaiswal has scored five centuries and one half-century in seven first-class games at an impressive average of 84.58.
The inclusion of Jaiswal and Dhol meant there was no place for Priyank Panchal, Gujarat’s opener, who led India A during their previous assignment at home against New Zealand A in August-September.
