BBL News – Zach Crowley has signed with the Hobart Hurricanes.

The Hobart Hurricanes have made the surprise signing of England Test opener Zak Crowley as an overseas replacement for the upcoming BBL season.
Crowley, who will be in Pakistan with England’s Test squad at the start of the BBL season, has been recruited as a replacement for Pakistan leg-spinning all-rounder Shadab Khan, who is away from the BBL due to international commitments. Ready to miss some games in the second half. In the limited overs series against New Zealand in January.

Crowley has never played in the BBL but showed glimpses of his skills in Australian conditions during a tough Ashes tour last summer. Hurricanes chief Ricky Ponting impressed with his 77 in the Sydney Test which helped England save the game. Crowley also has a relationship with Hurricanes assistant coach Darren Barry, who he worked with at London Spirit in the Hundred.

Crawley has a strong domestic T20 record with an average of 29.86 and an average of 145.08. He also has a T20 century but has never played T20 cricket or T20I outside England.
